With winter in full blast, Swan Cleaners and
St. Stephen's Community House are looking to central Ohio for
donations of winter coats to help keep children warm this year.
The 23rd Annual Coats For Kids drive will take place this
January. New and used children’s coats in good condition can be
dropped off at any of Swan Cleaners stores in the greater
Columbus area January 2-16.
“Last year, thousands of coats were collected, cleaned and
distributed,” said Paul Gelpi, president of Swan Cleaners. “This
year, we’re hoping for even more!”
Swan Cleaners will clean the coats free of charge and prepare
them for distribution. St. Stephen's will distribute the coats
on Thursday, January 21 and Friday January 22 at 1500 E. 17th
Ave.
"St. Stephen's is excited to once again be part of this year's
Coats For Kids drive. There are families that just can't afford
coats for their children and we’re proud to help," said Lonny
Poindexter, assistant director for St. Stephen's.
Over the past 22 years, over 200,000 coats have been collected,
cleaned and distributed through Swan Cleaners' Coats For Kids
program.
