Swan Cleaners was founded in 1937 by Eleanor & Andre Gelpi, parents of the current president, Paul Gelpi. Swan Cleaners continues to observe its cardinal rules of fast, friendly service and high quality at a moderate price.
Swan customers know that they can expect quick and courteous service when they bring their clothes to their neighborhood store. The staff is thoroughly trained and treats each garment as if it were their own.
Swan Cleaners equips its stores with state-of-the-art dry cleaning and pressing equipment to provide its customers with the finest care available for their clothes. In addition, the cleaning and pressing staff are taught the art of fabric care in specialized training courses.
Swan Cleaners also has a deep commitment to community involvement, including its tradition of cleaning American flags free of charge. In addition, Swan has been involved with the Block Parent Program since 1982 Every Columbus Swan store serves as a "safe-house" for lost, hurt or frightened children.
Recent charitable programs include Swan's "Coats For Kids" program which, over the last 14 years, has provided over 150,000 needy Columbus-area children with coats. Swan also donated a complete laundry facility to Recreations Unlimited, a camp for the handicapped.
Today, Swan Cleaners has over forty stores in the greater Columbus area, most of which offer one-hour dry cleaning and while-u-wait pressing service. Many stores have a seamstress on premises and drive-thru service for the ultimate in customer convenience.
Swan is a member of the International Fabricare Institute (IFI),
National Cleaners Association (NCA) and Ohio Cleaners Association (OCA), and has been named a Certified Environmental Dry Cleaner through the IFI. |
