Swan Cleaners was founded in 1937 by Eleanor & Andre Gelpi, parents of the current president, Paul Gelpi. Swan Cleaners continues to observe its cardinal rules of fast, friendly service and high quality at a moderate price.
Swan customers know that they can expect quick and courteous service when they bring their clothes to their neighborhood store. The staff is thoroughly trained and treats each garment as if it were their own.
Swan Cleaners equips its stores with all
of the necessary dry cleaning and pressing equipment to provide its customers with the finest care available for their clothes. In addition, the cleaning and pressing staff are taught the art of fabric care in specialized training courses.
Swan Cleaners also has a deep commitment
to community involvement, including its tradition of
cleaning American flags free of charge. Swan received
recognition by the Olympic Torch Team for uniform cleaning
and provides support to hundreds of local schools and
charities.
Recent charitable programs include Swan's
"Coats For Kids" program which, over the last 20 years, has provided over
200,000 needy Columbus-area children with coats. Swan also donated a complete laundry facility to Recreations Unlimited, a camp for the handicapped.
Today, Swan Cleaners has thirty stores in the greater Columbus area, most of which offer
"One-Hour" dry cleaning and "While-U-Wait" pressing service. Many stores have
"Drive-Thru" service for the ultimate in customer convenience.
